Dear Cason Lane Academy Families,
It is a great honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Cason Lane Academy. This role is especially meaningful to me, as Cason Lane is where my own educational journey began. I attended Cason Lane from kindergarten through fifth grade, making this a truly full-circle moment and a place that will always hold a special place in my heart.
I am a proud graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (K–6), and Carson-Newman University, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I have spent my entire career serving students in Murfreesboro City Schools, beginning as a classroom teacher at Scales Elementary before moving into school leadership. For the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal at Cason Lane Academy.
Cason Lane Academy has long been a place where futures are created, and I am honored to serve the students, families, and staff of this incredible community. I believe strong relationships and partnerships are the foundation of student success, and I look forward to working alongside you to ensure every child feels known, valued, supported, and challenged.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead as we Charge Towards Excellence!
Sincerely,
Kimberly Hix

Dear Cason Lane Academy Families,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Cason Lane Academy. From my very first visit, it was clear that Cason Lane is a special place filled with dedicated educators, supportive families, and students eager to learn and grow. I am honored to join a school community that is committed to excellence and student success as we continue Charging Towards Excellence!
I bring eight years of experience in education, serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator across K–12 settings. Throughout my career, I have taught first, second, and fifth grade. These experiences have strengthened my belief that every child can achieve great things when provided with encouragement, meaningful opportunities, high expectations, and strong support systems. My passion has always been helping students reach their full potential by partnering with teachers and families to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Childhood and Special Education from Niagara University and my master's degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Leadership, further strengthening my commitment to educational excellence and lifelong learning.
As a leader, I believe in being present, visible, approachable, and actively involved in school life. Whether greeting students during arrival, visiting classrooms, supporting in the hallways, or celebrating successes in the cafeteria, I enjoy being part of every aspect of the school day. Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families is at the heart of my work. I also value the importance of strong school-family partnerships and look forward to building meaningful connections with our families. As a bilingual Spanish-speaking educator, I am especially excited to continue strengthening communication and engagement with all members of our school community.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, young son, and dog, cheering on students at school events, and continuing to grow as an educator and leader.
I am excited for the journey ahead and look forward to working alongside Principal Hix, our students, staff, and families as we continue Charging Towards Excellence!
