Leatha Fielder

Welcome to my webpage! My name is Leatha Fielder, and I am from Nashville. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children…Savannah is a Senior at Blackman, Shelbie is a Junior at Blackman , and my son Hayden is in 6th grade at Rockvale Middle. All of my children are CLA alum!

I graduated from MTSU and this is my 20th year to teach. I taught at Mitchell-Neilson in 6th and 4th grades for nine years. This is my 11thyear at CLA. I graduated with my Masters degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leading through Lipscomb University in 2013.

I absolutely love being a teacher and have never wanted to do anything else, except maybe be a star on a sitcom…LOL! I am looking forward to a fabulous year!

My teaching philosophy is simple..."teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning". I believe that children learn best when they are respected and feel safe. They have a natural curiosity about the world around them, and it is my job to foster this curiosity through incorporating book clubs with various types of texts, researching topics of choice, presenting the findings, and writing for different genres.

My goals for your child this year are to encourage them to become life-long learners, problem solvers, thinkers, writers, and readers. I also want to encourage them to show empathy for others and to embrace our learning community. Thank you for sharing your child with me this year!
